Alex is the co-owner of the "Yonge & Sheppard Massage Therapy Clinic"
and has been an RMT since 1999. He has experience in sports injuries,
accident rehabilitation, pregnancy massage, headache treatment,
back pain treatment, as well as stress management or relaxation
massage. Alex can use deep massage pressure or light depending on
the goals established by the client and the therapist.
He was featured in Toronto Life Magazine's "Fitness
and Wellness Guide" in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
Casey Nolis, BSc, RMT
Casey graduated from Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 1999.
Has been practicing as a registered massage therapist ever since.
She is co-owner with her husband Alex of Yonge & Sheppard Massage
Therapy Clinic. Casey worked in both a chiropractic and a gym setting
prior to opening YSMTC. She is able to offer a wide range of massage
techniques including deep tissue massage, relaxation/light massage,
trigger point therapy and specializes in pregnancy massage, headache/migraine
treatment and sports injuries.
Fabio Castello, RMT
Fabio graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy
in 2000. The clients he treats have various conditions ranging from
joint sprains, muscle strains, tendonitis, back and neck pain and
stress related disorders. Fabio specializes in Deep Tissue Massage.
His background in biology and experience working in various hospitals
in Europe allows him to have a good understanding of the mechanism
and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries as well as an integrated
approach to treating the body as a whole. Fabio is also fluent in
French and Italian. Mental and physical stress disrupt the normal
balanced state of the body and he believes Massage Therapy and complimentary
approaches such as Naturopathic Medicine, Exercise and relaxation
are safe and effective techniques to restore balance allowing our
entire body to heal itself and work efficiently.
Alina Gheorghe, RMT
Alina has been a part of our team at Yonge and Sheppard
Health Care Centre for almost 2 years now. She graduated
Sutherland-Chan Massage Therapy School in 2004 and has
been working with us ever since. She uses Deep Tissue
Techniques, Myofascial Release and Swedish Massage Techniques
as well as Hydrotherapy modalities, depending on the
client's needs and wishes. She is a firm believer of
balance in one's life.
Megan Moore, RMT
Megan is a Registered Massage Therapist who graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 2005. She has worked in a gym setting along side a chiropractor prior to joining the team at YSMTC. She is able to offer a wide range of massage techniques including deep tissue massage, relaxation massage, trigger point therapy and specializes in pregnancy massage, back pain treatment, tension headache treatment and sports injuries.
Lisa Koranyi, RMT
Lisa is a registered massage therapist who graduated
from Sutherland-Chan Massage Therapy School in 2006.
With a background in kinesiology, she believes in combining
her knowledge for a well-rounded approach to helping
her clients. She utilizes a number of techniques including
myofascial release, general Swedish massage, trigger-point
therapy, stretching, and hydrotherapy within her practice.
Lisa treats her clients with both deep tissue and relaxation
massage based on each individual’s situation.
Christa Post, RMT
Christa is a graduate of Sutherland-Chan School & Teaching Clinic in Toronto, Ontario. She is registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and is a member of the Ontario Massage Therapist Association.
Christa's interest in human anatomy and her desire to help others drew her to a career in massage therapy. She believes in a holistic approach to healthcare and views massage therapy as a vital component of today's medical and wellness community.
Christa focuses on stress reduction and management by educating her clients about the negative effects on the body caused by life stress, poor occupational ergonomics and postural dysfunction. She also has experience treating clients for various secondary issues related to conditions such as pregnancy, post-surgical recovery, MS, and cancer.
Her goal as a therapist is to assist her clients in their efforts to achieve optimal health and wellness.
Karen Wood, RMT
Karen graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 2000. During her career she has worked in various environments including chiropractic clinics, hospitals, fitness clubs, as well as private practice. Her approach to massage therapy is based on the belief that the body-mind-spirit connection has a fundamental impact in one’s healing journey. She offers a wide range of massage techniques including deep tissue, trigger point therapy and relaxation massage—depending on the needs of the particular client. Karen is inspired by her client’s capacity to improve in their physical and mental health with the use of massage therapy.
Loida Blas, RMT
Loida graduated from Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy in 2001. She treats various conditions ranging from joint sprains, muscle strains, tendonitis, back and neck pain, stress related disorders, migraines and chronic pain. Loida specializes in Deep Tissue and Sports Massage. With a background in kinesiology and a strong interest with extensive experience in competitive sports, Loida draws on her knowledge to treat sports related injuries and aid in the prevention of such injuries. Her years of extensive experience working in a multidisciplinary clinic and in hospitals with pre/post natal care, motor vehicle accident victims and workplace injuries help her to improve her approach and treatment of her clients. In 2002, Loida continued her education by receiving a certification in Cranial-Sacral Therapy. She utilizes a number of techniques including myofascial releases, general Swedish massage, trigger-point therapy, passive stretching, cranial sacral techniques and hydrotherapy within her practice. She believes in treating the body as a whole, mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually - not only in treating symptoms but working with her clients to determine the cause of the symptoms and resolving them.
Sarah Byrne, RMT
Sarah graduated from The Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 1999. Her interest in the human anatomy and enhancing the quality of life lead to her interest in becoming a Massage Therapist.
She has always maintained an active and healthy lifestyle and believes massage is a great way to increase and individual’s overall physical and emotional well-being.
Sarah offers her clients a wide range of techniques including Swedish Massage, Relaxation Massage, Deep Tissue/ Sports Massage, Trigger-Point Therapy, and Hydrotherapy Modalities.
Sarah is also trained in Hot Stone Massage and will soon be trained in Indian Head Massage.
